Art can be expressed in many different ways. It can be expressed through Dance, Music, Martial Arts, or just art itself,(Like drawing, painting, sculpting and much more.) That's what's so great about art. Art is a way to brink yourself in your own world and really show what you are feeling or thinking. For some people it even helps to calm them down or it is a stress reliever. Sometimes we don't take art very seriously because we are having fun with it, and when you are having fun you aren't the most serious person probably. Art overall is a free for all no matter how good or bad, and there are so many different styles that can really express you.

How the two arts are different? One of the main differences between modern and Egyptian art is just in the way they look. Ancient Egyptian art is very dull and more symbols and etching than anything else. Modern Egyptian art is more of what we think of when we think of art today. Modern art is more colorful, brighter, and maybe even a little but clearer/easier to understand in a since. Ancient Egyptian art is more focused on leaving behind how life was for them back then, and leaving generations of stories to tell. Modern art for Egypt is more just to kind of show development. Modern Egyptian art is also a better chance for the Artist themselves to express their own emotion and feeling today. One of the biggest differences is in material. In Ancient Egypt they had different resources than we do today, and fewer than we do today. Most of their art that they made was either etched or chiseled into stone, or painted on stone. While today we do almost everything on paper or on the computer.

How the two arts are the same? While modern and Ancient Egyptian art don't have many similarities they do still have some. For instance sometimes in some of Modern Egyptian art today it is still used to tell stories, like in a picture book or something like that. Also art today still expresses daily life/ what's going on around us just like in Ancient times. Also we still use some of the same tools that were used in Ancient Egyptian art; they just might be modified a little bit. For instance they had brushes back then to put the dye onto the rock or to knock dust off the rock, which we still have for things like painting or working with clay. They also used chisels a lot to carve into rock, and we still use chisels for really big sculptures that we may be making. If you look closely at Ancient Egyptian art you will see they use very basic shapes to draw. We still do this today when we are sketching. We start out with a bunch of basic shapes and go from their.

What I first noticed about both of the arts. When I first looked at the Modern Egyptian art I had a little bit of a different reaction then the Ancient art because I hat never seen modern Egyptian art before. I first noticed that it was a lot like the modern abstract art that you see in museums all the time today. I also noticed how bright and colorful it was. Lastly I noticed how it had its own unique touch or twist to it. Each time I looked at a different piece of Modern Egyptian art I noticed how it was so a like to each other yet their was something so different, but I couldn't figure out what it was. I think it was the material in the drawing because it was drawn with textured paper. What I first noticed about the Ancient Egyptian art was how dull and basic yet at the same time complex it was. It was so basic in terms of the shapes and the figures used to make the art. At the same time complex with all the strange line that they used.
